In the month of December of the year 2019, all hell broke loose. A pandemic arose from the country of China. The people were blissfully unaware of the danger that was Covid-19. Everyone was thrown into a global pandemic once the government realized that this virus was spreading...FAST. The government enforced quarantine protocols to prevent the spread of this deadly virus. The economy definitely suffered because of businesses experiencing a lack of customers due to the pandemic.
In addition to that, the education system temporarily stopped. To keep students learning while in quarantine, the education system started using online video chatting platforms. But, this caused some inconveniences for students and teachers. As one of those students, I experienced some problems with actually focusing on my studies, since I became distracted more often than if I was in a classroom. I occasionally became lazy and procrastinated a lot when I was supposed to be studying. Because I had a lot of electronics and gadgets to get entertainment from and I was always at home, I always forgot to study and do my work. I also had no constant supervision to watch me and make sure I don't slack off.
Though, there's an upside to studying at home. I feel as if the atmosphere is more relaxed, considering you only have your family members around. Quarantine also allowed me to do some self-reflection. It also protected us from exposure to Covid-19 in the confines of our home. I also have become more closer to my family because they are usually either at school or at their workplace. We are constantly near together, we have fun, and enjoy our time at home. I also had more time to help my mother with chores. Though I did not do much, I feel like I at least did something to help.
I feel like this pandemic should really end soon. We can't really stay in our houses forever, right? With the grace of God and the Covid-19 vaccine, we'll say goodbye to this pandemic.
